Hey y’all, I’m Adrian, Tha Worst.

I’m a tattoo artist and the owner of Ofrenda Tattoo Studio in East Downtown Houston. I was born and raised here, and my Mexican roots have always been a big part of who I am and the art I create.

Growing up mixed, I’ve always felt a little caught between worlds. Being an outcast at times definitely shaped me, but it also taught me to appreciate the people, styles, and ideas that don’t always fit neatly into one box. That’s something I carry with me into my work.

Outside of tattooing, I’m into art, cars, music, cooking, and my cats. I originally went to college for mechanical engineering, but eventually realized I’d rather build a career around making art than sitting behind a desk. In 2018, I took the leap and started tattooing, and I’ve been doing it ever since.

Now, eight years later, I’m still drawing, tattooing, learning, and figuring out how to make the next one better.

MY STYLE

I’m a black & grey tattoo artist, and that’s where I feel most at home. I hand-draw all of my designs, so I’m not interested in making the same tattoo over and over again. I like taking your idea and figuring out how to make it work as a tattoo that feels like you.

I enjoy a lot of different styles within black & grey, but what I really love are tattoos that have some kind of feeling behind them. They can be sad, sexy, weird, feminine, masculine, playful, dark, or just straight-up badass. I like when a tattoo has a personality.

I also care a lot about making sure the tattoo actually works on your body. Placement, composition, readability, and how it’s going to age are all things I think about when I’m designing. Sometimes that means making changes to an idea so it looks better from a distance, fits your body better, or holds up over time.

You don’t have to know exactly how to design your tattoo — that’s my job. You bring me the idea, and I’ll take care of the rest. My goal is to make something that you’re excited to wear and that I’m proud to put my name on.

ARTISTRY

If you like the work you see on my social media, you’re already in pretty good hands. I trust my own style and experience, so when you send me a reference, I’m not going to copy it line for line. I use references as just that — references. I’ll take what you like about it and draw my own version specifically for you.

As for Tha Worst… yeah, I know it’s a weird name and it doesn’t reflect my morals or personality. It actually started as a stupid joke long before I started tattooing, but over time it ended up meaning a little more to me. I’ve had plenty of moments in my life that felt like the worst at the time, but those experiences are a big part of what made me who I am. They’ve pushed me to grow, change, and keep getting better at what I do.

So I guess the name stuck.

At the end of the day, I just want to make good tattoos, work with cool people, and keep making shit I’m proud of.
